Update from the Archdiocese on Re-Opening as of 5/7/2020

UPDATE AS OF MARCH 17, 2020

As of March 17th, the Archbishop has announced that all public Masses have been canceled until further notice.  We will be live-streaming a daily Mass and at least one Mass on weekends.  These live-streamed Masses are automatically recorded and can be watched later.  Our website and our Facebook page will give you access to the Masses.  Please continue to pray, including watching the Mass videos as a time of prayer, ESPECIALLY ON SATURDAY EVENING OR SUNDAY.  You are dispensed of your Sunday obligation to attend Mass, but you are still to make the sabbath holy as best you can.  Keep connected to us on our website or social media as updates are happening everyday!  Also, the office is closed to the public at the current time, but you can call if you have questions.

UPDATE FROM FR. SCOTT ON COVID-19- Mach 16, 2020

My dear Flock,

I hope you are staying healthy and having a good week.  As you are certainly aware, the world around us is changing very quickly.  It seems as though every day some new restriction is being placed on us to keep us safe.  It’s hard to keep up, but I pray that the Lord is protecting all of you.

As you also probably know, the Archdiocese has asked us to suspend any nonessential gatherings that we have at the parish.  Basically, Masses, confessions, and baptisms are the only gatherings we have at this point, and as of the writing of this email, they are still scheduled to happen.  But, among other things, events like our Perpetual Help Novena, daily rosary, Stations of the Cross, and various ministry groups will not be meeting for the time being.  Our perpetual adoration is being adjusted a little.  It will happen only between 9 and 6 on weekdays, 9 and 3 on Saturdays, and 1 and 6 on Sundays, and it will be in the church where we can spread out for social distancing.  (Please know that this is subject to change as things are changing around us, but we will keep you posted.)

I would like to ask that you pray with me during this time.  Below is a Novena that starts today, March 16.  We have also provided other prayer novenas, rosaries, and meditations for you!

Through out these next several weeks, we will be offering Live-streaming or posted videos of Masses, OLPH Novenas, rosaries, Stations of the Cross, a Eucharistic Procession, and regular meditations!  I want desperately to stay connected to you as my flock, and I know you want to stay connected with each other and with the Lord.  Please follow us on Facebook or our Website for all live streaming.  If you haven't already, sign up for Flocknotes to receive updates (and help others to do so too).

Also, I ask that you take time to reach out, on the phone, to your elderly loved ones and fellow parishioners!  Let them know their options for live-streaming and staying connected, and please assure them that our community is praying and wants to be connected with them!  We will be offering ways for us to be connected with each other, so keep your ears and eyes open for that.

Please note that our offices will be closed to the public. If you need to contact us, contact the office at: 913-631-5983.

Let me know if I can be of assistance to you.  Please know of my prayers, and I ask for yours in return.

In Christ’s Peace,

Fr. Scott Wallisch
